Can belts be repaired?

The answer is yes. In our understanding, the cost of a belt is expensive, so belt repair is an important way to avoid wasting resources. Belt repair methods can be roughly divided into three types, hot vulcanization, cold vulcanization and mechanical joints. 

Conveyor belt is the main part of the conveyor machine.  In many industries such as cement, quarry factory, mining, plant and harbour etc, conveyor need to running 24 hours and 7 days for the whole year because productivity requirement is high. Especially for the long and heavy duty line, the working environment is very bad and changeable. For example, extreme north places with the temperature of -40℃（-40℉）bring a large challenge for the rubber belt strength and conveyor running effect, but equatorial places with very high temperature beyond 45℃ also bring a very big burden for the conveyor belt service life. Cold vulcanizing splicing repair:

Cold splicing repair is one of the widest repair way in the conveyor belt splicing field. Repair materials usually are repair strips, repair patches, repair cement, repair glue. These materials are normal can be easily to buy. Repair splicing tools usually use the specific tools only for this field to save much personnel energy. Detailed speaking, cold splicing tools are mainly :

1. ply knife to Layer belt.

2. Multi function knife to cut materials and rubber.

 Hot vulcanizing splicing repair:

Hot splicing repair is necessary when the damage part is large and cannot easily repair by only small materials. The splicing tools are more important for the hot splicing because materials are easier only need rubber materials and glue. But tools are complicate:

1. Splicing vulcanizing press machine is the first and most key part for this application.

2. Ply knife, rubber knife, Don carlos knife, multi functions knife, stripper knife are all knife need to be used in the pre-treatment of the splicing part.

3. Belt strippers, belt cutters are necessary because without them cannot make preprocessing for the conveyor belt only by manual labour.

4. Hardness measure, temperature measure, damp measure and pressure measure are needed to keep the hot splicing go on well in the vulcanizing process.

5. Also need small tools are easily found beside you to help you put forward the whole process.

 Mechanical quick repair:

Above two repair methods are large damage need long splicing time, but when meet very urgent situation have no any much time to make detailed repair, the quick and efficiency way is mechanical way to repair in a short time. Apart from the belt fastener and various mechanical repair kits, also need some easily tools to quicker and more convenient, such as:

1. Angle grind and belt strippers to make preprocessing and after perfect steps for the part need to be repaired.

2. Special repair tools specific for the matched belt fastener or connector installations, which cannot be replaced by other.

3. Measure are necessary for this quick repair system.
